Jason is a trial lawyer and founding partner of the firm. He has successfully tried dozens of civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts, and has served as lead trial attorney in more than 30 trial and arbitration matters. Since 2007, Jason has represented hundreds of corporate and individual clients in various complex civil and criminal matters, including matters that involve trade secret and intellectual property theft, defamation, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, breach of contract, fraud, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO Act”), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Economic Espionage Act, the False Claims Act, anti-trust and unfair competition laws, and cross-border disputes involving Chinese law.

In 2019, Jason successfully defended a U.S. based importer of dietary supplements from allegations of fraud and alleged violations of the Federal False Claims Act. After a two-week long jury trial, and with less than day of deliberations, the jury returned a complete defense verdict for the firm's client. In so doing, the trial team at Liang Ly helped the client to avoid more than $30 million in potential liabilities and sanctions. In 2022, Jason was part of the legal team that worked on one of the biggest customs fraud matters in the nation, which resulted in multiple proceedings before federal and state courts and one of the largest restitution orders against the perpetrators of the fraud.

Jason is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of California, and is also a member of the bar of the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits. Jason has been consistently recognized by his peers as a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star" and as a "Super Lawyer." He is devoted to serving his community and has previously served as the President and Board Member of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, and as a board member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles.
